Dear Diary,
I guess I hadn't realized that my hair was thicker on the right side of my hair until this week. The other side of my hair had dried in about an hour and a half, but the right was taking almost four hours to dry.
I tried everything to get it to dry faster.
You should have seen me combing my hair upwards, grabbing the t-shirt to get the water out, and I even tried to sit by the fan. Nothing was working. I finally caved in, and sprayed some of my heat protectant with a little bit of alcohol in it to dry it up a little. THAT made it dry faster.
I guess chilling at home during the break made me less conscious of the time it took to do my hair. I had plans, but I had all day to get them done. At school, I had a night planned out, and my hair was sitting there acting a fool.
I didn't take any progress pictures, but you can look at the diary entries from previous dates if you want to see how my hair looks while I airdry and flat iron it.
In the end, everything worked out, and I was able to leave my dorm with good looking hair.
I also wrapped it last night, and for the very first time, I had gorgeous hair WITHOUT the heat. I will flat iron it, tomorrow, but only because it's Easter, and I have to fabulous for that.
Besides, this orange dress and nude heels (it sounds crazy, but it's really cute.) won't look as great without great hair. I love it. It's really pretty on me.
Also, I wanted to thank the people reading my diary again. I feel like I don't give you guys enough props for just reading what I'm doing or seeing when I mess my hair up. Thank YOU for reading, and I hope that something that I'm doing is helping you out.
Signed,
-The Relaxed Haironista
P.S. In case I don't post tomorrow, I wanted to wish everybody a Happy Easter. Have a great day, haironistas! Love you!

Dear Diary, It's Wash Day...
Dear Diary,
Since my birthday is on April 2, I decided to spend the weekend focusing on myself. After all, I'll be at school working on papers, studying, and working at an event for the next month and a half. The least I could do is pamper myself a little with a long wash day.
Thus, I headed back to my dorm to grab my shampoo and conditioner and hooked it up. I prepooed with olive oil and honey. Then, I rinsed it out and used the 1st Lather Shampoo by KeraCare. After that, I used my Joico shampoo, and I conditioned with the Garnier Fructis Deep Treatment.
I let it sit for at least fifteen minutes, and then I rinsed it out of my hair.
Now, I'm letting it air dry. Let us pray for my patience. I need some this weekend. Whoop dee doo. I'll be back with more updates.

Dear Diary, Flexi Rod Out Day Three.
Dear Diary,
I guess between a rough night, an early morning fire drill, and not paying attention to what I was doing, I managed to have one of the roughest hair days in a minute.
With that said, I don't even know how to deal with this travesty that is my hair right now. I'm just in awe. But whatever, I only have one more day with the flexi rods, and then, I'm straightening my hair for the weekend.
Here's a picture of the Oh My Lawd Why:

Dear Diary, It's Day Two With My Flexi Rods And...
Dear Diary,
Today is my second day rocking my flexi rod set, and my curls are more defined than before. Plus, I used less rods than I did yesterday night.
It was easier to do the flexi rods, anyways. It took me about twenty minutes to roll it up and what not. Plus I sprayed the conditioner over my head and combed it through. Also, I did everything else that I did last night with the flexi rods.
My hair isn't as soft as it was last time though, and I'm wondering if my hair likes it better when I give certain sections individual love with my product. However, it still has plenty of moisture, so I'm not too concerned about it.
This is how my hair looked in the flexi rods.
After that, I took my satin bonnet and stuck it on top of my head and spent the rest of my night relaxing around the room before I finally went to sleep, and woke up again (repeat 10 times).
By the time it was actually time to get up, these were my results. Plus, I tied it back with this long satin ribbon that normally goes around one of my dresses. I can't find my little headbands anywhere. *sighs*

It looks pretty good to me. What do you think? Day two!
Anyways, so far so good. This is the second time I've done this, and I'm pretty sure that my hair is still cute. Plus, no heat!

Product Review: Coconut & Hibiscus Hold &Shine Moisture Mist
PRODUCT:
Shea Moisture's Coconut & Hibiscus Hold &Shine Moisture Mist
(with Silk protein & Neem Oil)
Price: 7.99- 11.99 (depends on where you're getting it)
Supposed to: Give me Moisture, Body, & Shine while eliminating frizz. There's also stuff about what each specific ingredient does on the back, so the coconut oil was supposed to hydrate and protect my hair from heat and chemical damage, the silk protein reduces breakage, strengthens hair, and adds smoothness AND silkiness (CUT UP!). Plus, the neem-oil strengthens too AND adds shine. That's what the bottle said, anyways.
Okay, I just want to point out that I don't have a natural hair texture because my hair has been chemically processed with relaxers. Don't let my reviews stop you from trying your own products. Everybody is different, and you need to find what regimen works for you.
I'm not sure what went down with this stuff last night, but it actually gave me the results on the bottle for once. Now, I'm not positive if I've been using it incorrectly or what. It does, however, hold curls up. Trust me and my hair- that loves to do what it wants when it wants to.
Alone, it will add shine and body. However, I'm not sure if it adds the moisture that my hair needs with just one little spritz. I have to spray a lot of it on my hair for it to work. Thus, I'm not so sure that it has all the moisture it's promising.
I also don't like the fact that the product is so small for the price. I'm CHEAP. I don't want to spend at least eight dollars for a teeny tiny bottle of spray. If they could just give me more product for the same price, I would definitely keep purchasing it.
On the other hand, this stuff smells amazing. It's like perfume for my hair. I won't even try to lie. I'd buy this again just because it smells so nice. People will literally walk up and go, "Oh, your hair smells nice."
Another thing that I actually like about it is the fact that it does reduce breakage. My hair does tend to shed, but this minimizes the breaking that occurs. It's true.
Also, I like the design on the bottle. It's beautiful. It even gives you the history on the back of the bottle.
Would I buy it again? Maybe. It does fight my shedding pretty well. Plus, it's hair perfume for me. I just wish that there was more product for my money. Other than that, I'd recommend that somebody tried it.
Grade for this product: C+
What do you think? Ever used Shea Moisture? Like it? Hate it? Let me know!

Dear Diary, Flexi Rod Outs Might Be Cute...
Dear Diary,
I wanted to do something different (and protective but cute), so I went and grabbed my flexi rods. I moisturized my hair with the Pantene Moistorizer creme and sprayed some Motions Nourishing leave in conditioner and Shea Moisture's Hold and Shine Hibiscus Spray (product review later). I also put a layer of serum on top AND sprayed some argan oil hair spray (both from creme of nature) on my hair.
Then, I sat there for a minute...because I put too much of that Hold and Spray stuff in my head. Then, I covered my hair with the satin bonnet.
Here's The Snapshot From Last Night:
P.S Thanks to everybody who reads this thing. You guys make me smile. Also, check out the tags for the products used.,

My facial is just screaming, "I look ratchet. And a mess. Good Lawd."
I won't even lie, diary. I was really afraid when I was taking those flexi rods out. It scared me to death to think that I was gonna have another bad hair day, but when I got to the back and all was well, I was relieved that a horrible hair day was out of the question.

Dear Diary, The Wind and These Dorms...
Dear Diary,
Remember that fabulosity I mentioned before hand? It's been ruined. The wind and the rain worked together to ruin any chance I had of being absolutely fabulous (hair-wise), and then, it shoved me onto the ground...
Nah, I'm kidding. I'm just clumsy.
My hair is still holding on to it's moisture though, and with it being so windy, I'm going to have to chill on the heat. I've used my three times a week limit, anyway. Besides that, I'm trying to grow my hair, not burn some more off.
Tonight, I wrapped it up to the right. I sprayed it down with the Motions Nourishing Leave In Conditioner and then rubbed some Creme of Nature Argan Oil Serum over my hands so that I could I spread it onto my hair.
Oh, and I took it back to my younger days and brushed my hair out too. Y'know. It definitely can't hurt.
At least I don't think so....
Then, I wrapped it up. Put on my ratchet girl gear (my satin triangular doo rag AND my satin cap because I sleep ROUGH). Then, I hopped on my computer to type this up for ya'll. I didn't whine about my roommate looking at me crazy or nothing lawd. Lol.
She's not looking crazy, ya'll. She's watching movies on Netflix.
Speaking of my roomie, I'm back in these dorms until May. I have things to finish and what not, and...
Look, I'm just ready to get my career started.

Dear Diary, I'm Fly.
Dear Diary,
My hair has NEVER felt so lucious and smooth without salon assistance. For the past couple of days, I've been walking around my mom's house swinging my hair for no reason. I love how smooth and lucious it is, and I LOVE how shiny it is.
The Instyler is most DEFINITELY coming back on campus with me. I only need to use it if I need some body. IF then. Then, the argan oil serum with my Instyler?
You all just don't know. I'll show you some pictures of my hair mid-week when I get back to my dorms. Hopefully, my hair will STILL slay the masses.
Tonight, I'm going to spray this leave in on my hair and put my serum on it. Take it down from this wrap it's in, and let it shine to slay another day.
Peep my internal rhyme.

Correction, TODAY was Wash Day.
Dear Diary,
I got up the other day, and I did NOT feel like doing my hair at all. I looked at the shampoo and walked right past it.
Today, however, my hair and I bonded through my post-relaxer shampoo. This go round I didn't clarify or anything. I did, however, prepoo my hair with Garnier Fructis' deep conditioning treatment (only a little dime sized amount though), vitamin e oil, and water with a plastic cap over my head for an hour.
NOTE: Prepooing your hair is like a mask for your hair that you use PRIOR to washing the hair. You can put a little of your conditioner on it the night before you wash (or at least ten minutes before washing if you don't want to do all that), honey, a little bit of oil (castor, olive, sunflower, vitamin e, coconut, shea etc.), or even make your own type of prepoo with the right mix for your hair!
After that, I washed the prepoo out of my hair, grabbed my JOICO Silk Result shampoo, rinsed and lathered three times, and squeezed the excess material out of my hair.
I also got some shampoo in my eyes. It was terrible! I was freaking out trying to find the sink. I'm fine though. I'm not blind.
Then, I rinsed the rest out because the shampoo wasn't all the way out, and I grabbed my conditioner (Garnier Fructis Argan Oil Deep Conditioner). I also put a little leave in conditioner on top (Professional 23 leave in- really nice) and left that there for thirty minutes.
Finally, I rinsed that out and let my hair air dry. Before I flat ironed my hair, I took my duck clips and sectioned off my hair. Then, I sprayed my hair down with heat protectant by Garnier Fructis. I also used a LITTLE bit of Creme of Nature's Argan Oil serum on each piece of hair that I straightened. Finally, I flat ironed my hair with the Instyler (Yes, I have one).
It turned out gorgeous! I even took pictures of the transformation (well a little). Plus, I went out, so don't mind me.

Halfway dry!

March 14, 2013-
Dear Diary,
I know I should have just let it look raggedy for the day taken the proper precautions last night, but after half of my wrap looked gorgeous and the other half was flailing out every which a way, I just KNEW that I couldn't deal with my hair.
I had a breakfast date. I couldn't go out like a punk, so I did what I felt I had to at the time. I stuck my hair in a ponytail, and I bumped the ends with the flat iron.
I know what I did was wrong, but I had to get fine, diary!
I HAD to.
I'll keep it chill tomorrow, hair. I promise.

Product Review: Motions Nourish Leave-In Conditioner
PRODUCT:
Motions Nourish Leave-In Conditioner
Price: 3.99 (4.68 tax)
Supposed to: Give my hair life, moisturize my hair with vitamin e, silk proteins, and strengthen my hair with protein while protecting my hair. The silicone are supposed to gently detangle my hair and vibrant sheen.
Honestly, I didn't have high expectations for this leave in. I bought it with the intention of eventually giving it away. It was an emergency, and it was all that I saw in the store. In other words, I was desperate for anything.
I was so used to Creme of Nature's Argan Oil leave-in (I love that line of products if you can't tell already) that I wasn't prepared for this product to blow me away. I might have to give Motions another try. I don't think that I used it properly in sixth grade, anyways.
I sprayed it over my hair, brushed it through, and placed a little serum on the ends. Then, I wrapped my hair up the night before I had class, and lo and behold, my hair was actually manageable and well behaved after one of the WORST hair days of my life.
After using it for two weeks, I have noticed less breakage, and plenty of life in my hair. I'm so thankful that I picked this golden bottle up. I would definitely recommend it to anybody, and I'm tempted to stock up on it before they pull a Creme of Nature and start changing things unnecessarily.
Overall, I give it a nine out of ten. It screams fabulosity. Go check it out, hairistas.

Product Review: Cantu Shea Butter Super Shine Hair Silk
PRODUCT:
Cantu Super Shine Hair Silk
Price: 6.99 (7.50 with tax or something like that)
Supposed to: help prevent breakage, repair split ends, reduce frizz, be lightweight, and leave my hair silky smooth
This serum is okay, but it's nothing that special. It doesn't seem to last on my hair that much, and for some reason, my hair just doesn't love it at all. The shine lasts for a couple of hours or so, but the levels of health that I'm used to seeing from my other products just make it seem lackluster in comparison.
Anyways, I don't think that I'll buy this again. It definitely didn't wow me, and even though it did rid my hair of the frizz, it just didn't give me the overall feel that I was looking for. It didn't really change my levels of breakage drastically, but that could be something that was my fault. I'm not really sure. It also isn't as light weight as other serums, and as a result, it leaves this layer on top of the hair that isn't absorbed. Whereas, other serums have instantly made my hair crazy soft and manageable by themselves.
I don't know about any products that have ever completely repaired split ends, but to be fair, I did have a short lived shine.
Overall, I would give this product a rating of five out of ten. It's not at all the worst serum that I've ever used, but it's not the best either. I don't plan on buying it again. I think I've learned my lesson with Cantu products period. Maybe they just don't work for my hair.
What are your experiences with Cantu products or this serum period? Feel free to comment below!
Protective Style Day!
Dear Diary,
Today, my hair was still pretty soft and relaxed. The night before I went to bed (after a LONG night of studying for midterms) I rolled my ends with satin rollers and pin curled my bang, and went to sleep. I was pretty great looking, today. I was feeling myself so much, and KNOWING that the studying that I did has paid off is even better.
I'm also pretty sure that the motions leave in conditioner combined with my FAVORITE serum (argan oil creme of nature) has helped out a LOT. I love how it's been feeling lately. It's even softer than before.
Here's a picture of my whack little ponytail that got TONS of complements for no reason at all.
Told you guys I was feeling myself.

A Trip to The Salon. (March 9, 2012)
After a couple of instances with the salons near my university, I was discouraged. I didn't like the heavy use of mousse on my hair. I didn't like how one person almost forgot to condition my hair after a relaxer. I also didn't like the slow service and the lack of professionalism from some places. Alas, I had given up hope.
BUT one woman has changed my perspective (so far, anyways)! She was so gentle with my hair, timely, and patient. Not once did I have any concerns about the way my hair would turn out. It was sooooooooo soft after she conditioned it and placed me under the dryer, and it looks great.

Before
After.
And yes, I did get it trimmed. But hey! No pain, no gain!
